Lebron James: The Heart of A Warrior
You stumble back from a rugged right fist to the face. Blood drips down your face as bruises around your eyes the size of round plums inhibit you from seeing. The crowd of people around you cheer on and watch anxiously to see your reaction. Your body is exhausted, your mind cannot even think straight, and the pride and everything that makes and lets you feel like a human being is long gone.
You just got an old fashioned beat down in a back alley of the local grocery store and now you must live with this disappointment the rest of your life. You were fighting for the girl you thought you were in love with. You had given this girl your heart and now you saw her walking away hand in hand with the kid that just turned your face into a punching bag.
Now… What are you supposed to do? Are you supposed to go home and cry to your mom, or are you going to walk away mad and with anger and find another way to get your girl back? And one thing is for sure , and that’s, there is no way in hell you will ever talk to, look at, or even think about that kid or the beat down you just received ever again.
So now let me get to my point. Lebron James is not a sore loser. He is not lacking sportsmanship, he is not tarnishing the image of the NBA, and he is not a disappointment to the league. I cannot even fathom how so many columnists, journalists, ex players, coaches, owners, and fans think that Lebron strolling off the court after a long and hard fought six game series which including him averaging a mere 39 points per game, and I’m guessing this must be pretty easy to do right? I could more than likely bring some kid off the street, throw him in the game, and easily enough he could go out and make superior athletes look like rag dolls as Lebron does right? The man is an absolute animal on the court. The hours and hard work he has put into this game has created a warrior within itself. No this series wasn’t a war, it wasn’t a battle, it wasn’t a life or death situation, but I know for a fact that this is Lebron James’s life, passion, and profession and he is definitely not going to want to go out and “dap up” his boys from the Magic after the loss. What would everyone like Lebron to say to the Magic and more specifically to Dwight Howard? Let me give you a scenario of what the world wanted to happen:
The buzzer sounds and the streamers begin to blow with brilliant blue and white spraying everywhere. Lebron James hangs his head, but it only takes a few seconds for him to get back to reality. This was a very hard fought series and I should go thank and wish the team luck that just humiliated my team, ended my season, put all my hard work this season to an end, and best of all wrecked my chances of winning an NBA Championship! It’s not that big of a deal though. Lebron doesn’t work too hard. He probably didn’t want a championship more than anyone this season. From the look on his face, I believe Lebron would like to go over to Dwight Howard, embrace him in a nice bear hug, drape him in a superman cape, reward him with the Eastern Conference trophy, put his cap on for him backwards, and thank him for putting a 40 point performance on his Cavies and say, “Dwight man, you really flew like Superman tonight. I really didn?t want this that bad you know. It’s only my life and I like being a part of these post game antics. Maybe they will take a Family Photo of us! How about I hit that “Dougie” dance up and you can “Walk it Out” like you did over my teams face this series! Sound good!? Alright everyone, gather around! Dwight and I would like to take a photo for the ages! Also I will be taking questions afterwards for up to three hours because I’m in a very talkative mood and I’m sure everyone doesn’t already know how I feel right now! This is the best feeling I’ve felt in a long time! I can’t believe I made it this far, but now its over, but it was fun while it lasted! Maybe I’ll go fish with Charles and Kenny after the game and put on a fedora and dance like a monkey for everyone! “
Give me a break people. Do you honestly believe a beast such as Lebron will partake in your post game circus? Did you really believe he was going to go talk to his so called “boy” Dwight after the game? Lebron’s trophy was the girl that got taken from you and now your supposed to congratulate the person who beat it from you? Please tell me I’m not the only person that watched the television as Lebron James walked off the floor and applauded, and realized this cat is a different breed. He will not stop until he gets a championship. He is a force to be reckoned with and the world better watch out. Lebron James walking off the court was not a travesty, it was a moment that turned a man into a warrior that won’t stop until he gets what he wants.
