County Judge Patti A. St. Johns Christensen was appointed to fill the vacancy created by the withdrawal of the Seventh Judicial Circuit Judge Edward E. Hedstrom.
Governor Charlie Crist announced the appointment Tuesday.
Christensen, 55, has served as judge of the County Court since 2000. She was in private practice with several different law firms since 1982. He was a sole practitioner 1997-2000.
He received his BA from Vanderbilt University and a law degree from the University of Florida.
Summit Foundation to extend the honor of South Africa links
A Culture and Business Summit celebrating the 10th anniversary of the twinning of the Nelson Mandela Bay (Port Elizabeth before Jacksonville), South Africa Sister Cities Association of Jacksonville since Friday, September 17 at North Florida University Student Union.
The event is free, three days will focus on local business and cultural communities to foster trade and exchange of ideas between businesses and nonprofit organizations in the field of Mandela Bay. The program starts at 9 with the Africa Division and the top in the cultural center of the pupil 1 UNF Drive, near St. Johns Bluff Road.
6:00 Saturday September 18 that Africa Gala in the ballroom of the Foundation's Student Union, African cuisine and live entertainment by the band about Nigeria. From 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 19 worship will be held at American Beach Community Center, 1600 S. Fernandina Beach Julia.
