Episode three of this zippy and surprisingly likeable comedy has Tessa needing a third-period elective that doesn’t involve sitting in the ladies’ room reading a book. She gets involved in the student newspaper, which is mostly used to line hamster cages in the science lab. “The reason these kids aren’t reading it is because they’re gossipy, superficial, mean-spirited materialists,” Tessa says, before transforming it into a successful scandal sheet. Hmmm.
